DTF Printing Overview
In the context of direct-to-film (DTF) printing, three key aspects must be considered.
Cause: Improper maintenance of DTF equipment. Printer has been idle for more than 3 days. Printhead might be missing nozzles. Lower fluency of DTF white ink, check for air in the ink tube and damper. RIP software settings may have been changed.
Solution: Perform regular maintenance, ensure ink agitation, check damper air levels, and verify RIP software settings.
- Step 1: Conduct a test print / nozzle check to assess the status of the print head (refer to the provided image).
- Step 2: Agitate white ink with the recirculation knob in the back of your Impact USA printer.
- Step 3: Inspect the white ink dampers and ink tube for air. If present, perform a thorough cleaning.
- Step 4: If cleaning is unsuccessful you can run a LOAD INK from PrintEXP for 20 seconds.
- Step 5: In the software, select the appropriate limit and increase the size of the white ink load.
- Step 6: If you are unable to recover missing nozzles you can soak the head in DTF cleaning solution for 24 hours.

Maintain your Impact USA DTF printer regularly, inspect printheads for nozzles, shake white ink for fluency, and check ink tubes for air to prevent disruptions.
